JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION! UBORA CELEBRATING THE SOUND OF BLACK EXCELLENCE

FREEPORT, NY… (April 19, 2023)

Zion Cathedral Church of God in Christ, located in Freeport, NY, hosts the third annual Juneteenth event entitled “UBORA: Celebrating the Sound of Black Excellence,” Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 7 p.m.

The program honors African Americans who have made substantive contributions to the Black community on Long Island and in the Greater New York area. The celebration of these trailblazers includes festive dancing and multiple genres of music, including gospel artist Donnell Williams & Company and many other exceptional artists. UBORA recognizes twelve distinguished leaders in the areas of education, economic empowerment, leadership, innovative creativity, and vision. Gospel giants, Bishop Hezekiah Walker and Dr. Maurette Brown Clark are in the UBORA class of 2023, in recognition of their unique Sound of Black Excellence in the field of contemporary gospel music.

“GOD has positioned Zion Cathedral to fill a void in the area of appreciating Black Excellence, and I am excited about the Power of Possibilities,” says Bishop Frank A. White, Pastor of Zion Cathedral. “This production of excellence honors the unsung contributions of African Americans in this nation.”

Sponsored by the Vision 2023 Strategic Planning Committee, the awards show is celebrated at Zion Cathedral located at 312 Grand Avenue, Freeport, New York.

Tickets for the awards presentation and unique Black History Mobile Museum exhibit are available for $81.
